Our favorite quote:
"I caught Rick Neeley and Chris McNamara at the Stained Glass Coffee House in Deerfield, Illinois. It was the second time I'd seen the duo and I had "talked them up" to several of my friends. Their show at Deerfield was terrific; no personal angst songs about how badly life had beaten them up, no eyes closed "my, don't I feel my songs a lot and aren't you impressed by that?" nonsense.
They both actually looked at you and drew you into the performance experience. Rick was terrific with his rendering of Bob Gibson's banjo piece "Andalusian Dance" - Eddy Peabody would have been impressed, and I can only imagine that Bob was smiling somewhere in the great unknown! It was great to hear Rick and Chris' performance of the Gibson, "Well, Well, Well". With their close harmonies and good humored banter these guys are a throwback to a time when folk music was meant to entertain and include the audience - and we were all drawn in by their obvious good time. In fact a good time was had by all in attendence. It was a great evening. Thanks, you two!"
